Privacy Policy

Barbara Hill (“we”, “us”) operates barbarahillflute.com. This page explains what personal information is collected when you use the website and how it is used. We follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

No cookies or advertising trackers

The website does not use cookies or advertising trackers, and does not ask you to create an account. Payhip's checkout pages, which open when you buy sheet music, are run by Payhip and may use their own cookies. Likewise, when you press play on one of Barbara's recordings or a video, the YouTube, Spotify or Facebook player loads and may use its own cookies; nothing from those services loads until you do.

Visitor statistics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits: which pages are viewed, the referring website, the visitor's country, browser and type of device, and which free sheet music is downloaded and which "Buy now" buttons are pressed. It sets no cookies and does not identify you or follow you across other websites; visits are grouped using a short-lived anonymous code that is discarded within 24 hours.

Contacting us

Messages sent with the contact form are delivered to Barbara by email through Formspree, which keeps a copy for 30 days under its own privacy policy. Whether you use the form, email or phone, we use your name, contact details and message only to reply to you and to arrange lessons, ensembles or performances. We do not share them with anyone else.

Concert mailing list

If you join the concert mailing list on the events page, your email address (and your name, if you give it) is sent to Barbara through Formspree in the same way as contact messages. Barbara uses it only to tell you about her upcoming concerts. To be taken off the list, reply to any of her emails or get in touch.

Buying sheet music

When you buy from the shop, the “Buy now” button takes you to Payhip, which handles the payment and the download. Payhip collects your name, email address and payment details under its own privacy policy. We receive your name, email address and what you bought, and use them only to support your order.

Website hosting

Like all websites, the server that hosts this site may automatically record technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. This is used only to keep the site running and secure.

Links to other websites

This site links to other websites, such as music publishers and concert venues. We have no control over their content or privacy practices, so please review their privacy policies.

Your rights

You can ask to see or correct any personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, through the contact form.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when they are posted on this page.
