Originally composed for violin and viola, this delightful piece starts with a lyrical Andantino, followed by “Tema Rossini” which could be straight from the opera composer’s pen. This humorous theme is elaborated upon by a series of virtuosic variations. Especially alto flute players can show off their technical skills in this work.
